Part one of two of Dillon's new switches came today! I am so excited to use them! This is not the piece Dillon will normally be touching, this is just to record our voices in to allow him to socially interact! This is all the ideas from the communication clinic at DuPont... THANK YOU!

This video just touches my Mommy heart! THIS is what DuPont wants for Dillon...ok so they want him to touch the switch without help, but it IS his first night with it! I just LOVE how Truett took to it and is answering him, playing with him, hugging him etc. THIS is social interaction!! Oh, how I PRAY Dillon can learn to socailly ineract with us!!

If you remember to please pray that Dillon will be able to learn social interaction I would appreciate it. DuPont's experts say there is no possible pathway for Dillon to make choices to communicate with us. Which is exactly as I expected. But they do believe he MAY be able to learn that touching his switch allows him to interact with us and causes us to ineract with him. If you see Dillon from now on, you should see him with his switch! (Except during preaching at church - he doesn't need to socially interact during the preaching! :-) )

Dassah and her birthday candle! (her eyes are puffy because she had pink eye that the kids came down with 2 days after being at CHOP for Dillon's procedure)
The birthday party! Only Haddie was looking back at everyone...

Enjoying her birthday cupcake! I had to shove her fingers in the icing then shove them in her mouth for her first bite, then she had no problem with it. She actually didn't get too messy. She ate all the icing first then I had to show her that the cake was something to eat as well. :o)

Haddie girl, You are an amazing daughter. You have your guardian
angels working over time! You have an incredible pain tolerance and an adventurous
spirit (bad combination!). You have the most beautiful smile and a quiet little
laugh. You make the funniest faces and are so laid back and easy going. You are
a peanut, at not even 15 pounds you are nowhere near the bottom of the weight
charts! But your personality is way above the chart! I have started telling
people that little girls are not made of sugar and spice and everything nice,
they are naughty and mischievous! You are more spice than sugar most of the
time, but sometimes you can be so sweet! You are starting to learn to hug and
burp your babies, but then you just toss them aside to go play trucks and cars!
I thank the Lord for giving our family a sweet little girl. You completed our
family and are the princess in our family. Your brothers adore you and you
them.

Praise the Lord! His tissue is not inflamed at all so they know he isn't refluxing. If he were on drugs they wouldn't know if it was due to the drugs or if he really isn't but sine he was drug free they know for sure.Tiffanyhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/09696025579293488494noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-31477497.post-20621203998499141292012-08-30T20:54:00.003-04:002012-08-30T21:25:20.254-04:00What we have been up to...Life happens, fast!

One day I noticed Haddie's finger looked a little swollen, I thought it was one she sucks so I dismissed any further thought. A few days later I looked at it again and realized that it is not a finger she sucks, it was the pointer and she sucks the middle two. So I asked a nurse what she thought and she said she thought I should call the doctor. The next day I got her in and they sent her across the street for X-rays. When the X-ray tech handed me copies of the films and said if you don't hear from your doctor within the next two hours I would call them... I knew it wasn't good. I got home and looked at the X-ray on my computer and did not need a radiologist to tell me it was broken. So as soon as I got the "offical" call I called DuPont Children's hospital. They got her an appointment for two hours later. Josiah came home from work to be with the other kids and Haddie and I went. They park your car for free (which I love!) and we were in, casted and back to the car within 45 minutes.

By the way - my best guess was that when she pulled my iPad down and it hit her head a few days before that it landed on her finger. It wasn't broken in a place where she fell they said something happened. That is my best guess. But she only cried for about 2 minutes

The next day she climbed up the steps for the first time so it didn't slow her down at all!

A few days later we were getting ready to go see family and our night nurse was going with us...until he was in an accident the day we were supposed to leave. Thankfully he was not seriously injured, but unable to go with us. We had a good time seeing many family members.

After coming home Haddie got her cast off, I kind of miss hearing the thud thud of where she was! Dillon was scheduled for a surgical procedure on Tuesday, and well.. it didn't go how I thought it would! He was supposed to get a scope down his throat, biopsy, and an impedience probe placed by GI and then ENT was supposed to look at his ears and possibly place ear tubes. The GI doc (different from my normal one) walked in and asked me if they drugged him because he looked so tired. I said no this is baseline for Dillon. Didn't he read the chart, or talk to my doc enough to know that Dillon is low function?? The ENT doc called out to me in the waiting room and told me if you think of your ear drum as a trampoline, Dillon's was almost flat from the amount of fluid on them so it was good we placed the tubes! then GI came out and told me that they put the scope down and got the biopsy done, but they couldn't get the impedence probe down . This was supposed to stay in him for 24 hours and measure reflux, both acidic and nonacidic to see if he is refluxing formula and/or secretions. The doc then tells me that it is like a piece of wet spaegetti and it was curling because of Dillon's narrow, floppy, obstructed airway! (No joke!) He said we would need IR (radiology) to place it and that it will only take 5 minutes but that we would have to reschedule. I asked him can't they get someone to do it while he is under? They said sorry he is already awake, you will have to reschedule this. By this time I am just shaking my head in amazement. This is CHOP the world's best children's hospital and no one thought ahead enough to know that they might need help to place this flimsy tube in a child like Dillon? And no one can get IR in there for 5 minutes to help out so a medically fragile child doesn't have to go back under another time?

Then in the PACU the nurse put the side of the bed down and caught Dillon's hand - with the IV - under it and hurt him pretty bad. Then, even though he was awake and oxygen and heart rate were good, his body temp was dropping. It went to 95.3 I think. They had to put a warming blanket on him to get it up after a good hour. Thankfully a teenage girl from church was with the the WHOLE time to help with the kids and was such a blessing! I couldn't have done it without her!

My mom kept reminding me that so many people were praying for Dillon and that God must have stepped in and stopped the probe for some reason. The next day Dillon vomited twice. I can count how many times he has vomited since January, and he did it twice in one day! That would have thrown off our probe study horribly! They would have thrown him on drugs and or a J tube for sure, and that isn't even normal for him! Praise the Lord for his intervention even though I couldn't see it at first!!! Next time I know to tell them that he might have those reactions after being under so we will be prepared for them.

The next day we also found a bloody spot on Dillon's scalp.....??? The nurse and I were trying to figure out what they could have done to him in the OR, dropped something on him? His nurse washed his hair really good the night before and didn't find that so it had to have happened in the OR. My mom suggested, and I think she is right, that they tried to place an IV in his head. Since he had at least 5 other marks from attempts I think that is what happened. You would think they would have told me that, though.

I decided to change to DuPont and try their GI, I have nothing but bad experience after bad experience with CHOP's GI so we will try DuPont. I called for a new patient appointment and got in for 2 weeks from now... that is awesome!

So that is a quick run down of what we have been up to. There is little time for blogging with 4 kiddies. I spent literally 4 hours on the phone today for Dillon about different things including trying to find someone willing to fit him for contacts so that he can actually try to use his vision. Wouldn't that be great?!?!

His seizures have also been 10X better yesterday and today. I wonder if the fluid in the ears was causing pain and bringing on worse seizures....? Time will tell....

Thank you to everyone who prayed specifically for the procedure, and to everyone who just remembers to pray in general for us. God hears, and never ceases to amaze me at how He answers our prayers. Even when we don't realize it is an answer to prayer He still cares and helps us!
Tiffanyhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/09696025579293488494noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-31477497.post-9482045789253332642012-07-13T22:29:00.003-04:002012-07-13T22:45:25.821-04:00Chick Fil AChick Fil A had their annual day where if you dress head to toe like a cow you get a free meal with dessert! JayDonn you are a great kid, I love you. This last year was a big year for him. He graduated Kindergarten, is now reading books at 2-4 grade level, started a few days of first grade before his birthday, and the best part is Jay says he was saved this year! I have questioned him over and over again to see if he understands and it seems he does. And considering when I have pointed out his sins from the Bible and he responds so well, I believe he very well could be saved. We did not make a "big deal" because I want him to remember his heart and his decision not everyone making a "big deal" of it. As you can see, it has been a big year!

Jay's presents I got set up the night before...

I also put these streamers on his door the night before so when he woke up he would have a little surprise!

Getting ready to go to Burger King for his birthday lunch

The birthday boy!

We also went to get his K5 graduation pictures taken and then to a little cupcake place. His K5 grad pics are the cutest thing ever! Then later that night Daddy came home from being away all week on a business trip. We had dinner and cake and sang to him. He requested a angel food cake with fruit. I think I have pictures on my iPad so I haven't up laoded them.

Months ago Josiah bought tickets for Jonah since he knew this was a story Jay loves. It was a surprise for him, but they loved it!

After the show we went out to eat and walked around the trains.

I love this picture - how many more years will they walk hand in hand? When Jay and I asked where/when he got them he finally told us he loaded the 3 kids up and went to the store for them while Jay and I were out at dinner. He is so sweet. That night the kids had an activity at church so we took Dillon and Haddie with us to this fancy little restaurant and had a very nice dinner. Of course the clouds opened up and dropped water on us as we were driving and unloading there so we were soaked, but it was still wonderful. On our way home Josiah stopped and got some ice cream and a a cherry Boston cream cake and they sang to me and we ate out cake. (Sorry the only pics we got were on Josiah's phone so I don't have them to post)

It was a wonderful birthday!Tiffanyhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/09696025579293488494noreply@blogger.com2tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-31477497.post-27593972634494928082012-06-16T19:57:00.006-04:002012-06-16T22:00:57.149-04:00Dillon's Birthday!!!
Happy 6th Birthday Dillon!

Wow! I love you my Boy!

Earlier this week Dillon's class had a graduation party. The lady on the left is his teacher and the other two ladies also work in the classroom with the kids. Dillon was the only one from her class there that was graduating. It was a beautiful day out, not too hot, but warm enough to play. He went in the pool, had a friend over for the first time, got some presents from family (Thank you!) and just enjoyed life!

7 people have blessed and encouraged me (and made me cry) at their notes that I asked for yesterday. Thank you to everyone who took the time to write me and tell me how Dillon's life has been used by God to impact their lives. If I had to describe Dillon's life it really would be: ALL TO THE GLORY OF GOD!!! That IS the purpose of Dillon's life - to bring God glory. Thank you for blessing my Mommy's heart today on Dillon's 6th birthday! I think this has been the best birthday for him ever! He had a friend over and we got to talk with people who know what life is like for us, he got some nice gifts in the mail from family, had a taste of icing (no he didn't really care), swam in his pool, enjoyed the breeze outside all afternoon and evening, was near family who love him, etc. As long as I don't let myself start to dwell on that day and what I lost and how my heart shattered for my little boy, then I can see God's hand clearly in our life over the last 6 years. I can see God saying I need a little missionary to reach out to my other special families, I need a missionary who is so cute and touching that people won't refuse his story and the gospel, I need a little man who will encourage others to be thankful for their families, I need a family who will allow me to use them. I am not saying I was always willing, but by God's Grace and only through His help I am willing to allow him to use our family to help others. I only pray we can continue to be a blessing and a testimony to others and that we can live our lives in a way that brings God the Glory!

Thank you Lord, for 6 full years with my first born son. Thank you for the health you have given him and how you have sustained him when no one thought possible. Thank you for all the many ways you have provided wonderful equipment, therapy, nurses, and handicap items for him to make our lives easier. Thank you for the grace to accept his life and the wisdom in making decisions for him. Thank you for the laughter he has brought, thank you for the trails he has brought. Thank you for the little accomplishments he has made, and thank you for helping me handle the milestones he will never meet. Thank you for growing and maturing me through him. Thank you for teaching me about unconditional love through him. Thank you for teaching me prayer, and faith, and trust because of Dillon. Thank you for never leaving me through the hard times. Thank you for promising me you will be with us every step of the way no matter the future. Thank you for the promise of a new body one day where he will run and jump and play, but thank you for allowing him to be different in this world to touch others lives.

Thank you for giving me Dillon - JUST AS HE IS! How did that happen???

I will never forget that day, there are so many tiny details etched in my mind. It was one of the greatest days of my life, but also one of the saddest and most frightening!

For his birthday this year, will you email me, don't leave a public comment, with how Dillon's life has impacted you? How has God challenged you, matured you, changed you, grown you, etc. Its selfish - but it really helps me to KNOW HOW God's has used Dillon's life, to know it isn't in vain, that there IS a purpose for his little life being so very different from what I wanted. I would love to read these notes tomorrow on his birthday! THANK YOU!!!

Tiffanykuenzi@gmail.comTiffanyhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/09696025579293488494noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-31477497.post-45141730118720922802012-05-17T22:00:00.003-04:002012-05-17T22:15:01.398-04:00more about my TruettI didn't get to write everything I wanted to about Truett last night so I wanted to add more today.

Truett has the sweetest little smile I know. He loves to holds his hands on my cheeks and smile at me. He is so sweet to his little sister and even hugs his big brother out of the blue. He is the only child I know that is very camera shy. He literally turns away when he sees me hold it up, most pictures I post of him are after many many attempts and getting the back of his head.

A few months ago he was not talking or even babbling do he started getting speech therapy. He has improved so much over the last few months! He talks a LOT now! I still can't understand everything but most of it I can. He has started putting words together like "I don't want it." at dinner time! (nice try, kiddo - but that isn't going to change anything!)

We have been working on potty training, but just slowly. But in the last week it really seemed to click with him. For his birthday we got him a backpack that he can take a change of clothes with him everywhere he goes. Yesterday he told me when he had to go once and today we went out to the store without a diaper! He is doing great! He loves being a big boy like Jay!

When I ordered Jay's 1st grade homeschool I bought Truett two books for two year olds. He started that today and loved doing school with Jay. He also is finally starting to like to look at books. He even sat yesterday and today for me to go through ABC flashcards a few times with him.

It seems overnight Truett has started to take off and grow up1 I can't believe how big he is getting. He is so smart and I am finally getting to really see it. Example: We have two identical trash cans in the kitchen one is for trash and one is for recycle. I gave him something and told him to put it in recycle and he knew which one it went in.

Truett - you are so unique and special and I love you! You have the most precious blue eyes and sweet smile. You are an amazing little boy, so smart and full of adventure! My parents, sister and her family and my family all got together. We went to the concert where the Collingsworth Family was filming their next DVD!

It was about a 9 hour drive (not including stops) for us, but only a few hours for the rest of my family so we figured it would work out good to get to see everyone. We left Thursday morning. About half way into the trip we saw we were going right by Josiah's grandma's house so we decided to stop and say Hi and have lunch with her. His parents also we arriving at the same time to spend the day with her so we all go to visit for about two hours, then we were on the road again.

Jay knew who we were seeing but his cousins had no idea we were coming so it was a fun surprise. They had a blast playing together...but the noise level was pretty high!

7 kids ages 5 and under! We took them in the pool a few times, shhh don't tell them our plan was to use up their energy! Right as it was about to start the fire alarm went off and we all had to leave the building. We took that opportunity to get a family picture taken. Then everyone went back in. The kids did great during it. They enjoyed the music, played, colored, snacked, ate ring pops, etc! It didn't finish until a little after 11pm! So all in all they did great.

Don't ask me why Blogger turns my pics but it does...

Then on Saturday we drove home, with stops it took us about 11 hours both ways. It was a long car ride, a short visit, but well worth the family time.

While driving we saw signs for where I used to live. My husband never saw that area so we stopped to see the house and the church where my Grandpa was the Pastor.

Ok - Dad this picture is JUST FOR YOU!! That is not to say it was her first bite of food since I know Truett fed her chocolate once, we have found grapes and other things in her mouth (she acts like a puppy and crawls under the table when we eat hoping Truett will drop things!) But she did great with her cereal.

Monday our nurse had to leave a little early because her Mom's health was quickly failing. The next day I read that her Mom had passed away. My heart broke for her and her family.

Wednesday started missions conference at VFBT. It was a great time! During the day I emailed a new friend I had been put in contact with that I wanted to come see her the next day as her little "pillow angel" was in the hospital and not doing well.

Thursday I woke up sick and so did Jay and Truett. So in the morning I emailed that friend that I wasn't going to be able to make it after all b/c I didn't want to take any virus to them. Later that day was an IEP meeting for Dillon and since I couldn't find any child care they had to go to the meeting with me. We went to mission conference again that night, which was a blessing. It was also my GramMa and GramPa's anniversary. Since GramPa passed away last year it is a bittersweet day. I felt bad that I didn't call her all day so I planned to do it when I got home from church. However, when I got home I checked facebook and saw this new friend posted that her daughter closed her eyes here on earth and opened them in Heaven at 5:05pm. I just started crying. I went down and just hugged Dillon and cried. I am so thankful for the time Dillon has been here with us. My neuro just told my nurse two weeks ago that he didn't think Dillon would still be here. He gave credit to the nurses for the excellent care he gets. I know it is due to the excellent care, but also due to God's sustaining grace in Dillon's life. I know that his life is fragile. I know that any sickness could quickly turn serious, like it did for this other sweet Pillow Angel. Hearing of this little girl's home going just struck my heart... I know one day that may be us and it hurts to think of what this family will be going though. The sadness and grief they must be feeling!

Around 10pm I finally called GramMa and when she asked me how I was - I burst into tears! I told her about this Pillow Angel and how my heart was breaking for her parents and her siblings. She sweetly talked to me and understood. She helped and encouraged me, even on a day that was understandably a hard day for her!

Around 11:30 that night my Mom texts my husband that someone in our family died. So I called her and found out that her Uncle passed away. I think I only met him one, maybe two times, since my Mom is adopted. But I am very sorry for the family's loss as it was totally unexpected. I believe my great uncle knew the Lord and is in Heaven with Him today. The only way to know for sure you will go to heaven is to know that you are a sinner deserving Hell as a punishment and that Jesus Christ loved you, came to earth to die FOR you - or in your place so you can go free. Believe these things, Call on God to save you and He will!! So simple, so easy, yet so hard to humble ourselves and so misunderstood by many.

Friday was the viewing for Dillon's nurses' Mom. We went to that with a new nurse filling in for her. It was good to say Hi to her family, but my heart goes out to them. Friday night was again Missions Conference. During the missions conference I had to take Dillon out of church because he had a high heart rate and was breathing heavy. I was watching him breathe in and out and it wasn't normal. I gave him inhalers which seemed to help a little.

Saturday was GramMa's birthday. We were able to skype with GramMa for a little bit which was nice. We also started watching the movie Courageous! Awesome! But we had to stop it 2/3 of the way through b/c Josiah and Jay had plans. We finished it Sunday afternoon. It was a WONDERFUL movie and if anyone hasn't watched it I HIGHLY recommend it! Dillon continued to have a higher heart rate and needed oxygen.

Sunday Dillon needed up to 1.5 LPM. I started asking people to pray for him because things just don't seem right with him. I am afraid he is fighting something. Sunday night, though, he was doing a little better so we went out for a bite to eat after church. The diner was about to close and there were only 2 other tables. Then an elderly man came in with a walker and sat down to drink coffee and cheesecake alone. Josiah said something about how it is sad to be alone like that. I told him we should buy his food for him. The waiter told the man there was no charge and he was confused. So the waiter told him that we covered his bill. he turned around and said Thank you and asked if he knew us. We said no but that we live around here. We found out that he also lives close by and comes there a few times a week for his coffee. He told us his wife died 3 years ago and that his kids live far away. We explained that our grandparents don't live close by and that we appreciate when other people are kind to them. We grabbed a gospel track and wrote our name and number on it in case he needs anything. We felt so blessed to have been a blessing to him. Hopefully he will read that track and learn how he can be saved, if he isn't already. It was the highlight of the week for sure!

It was one of those weeks that you are glad are over. Tomorrow (Tuesday) we are going to the viewing for the little Pillow Angel - who is no longer a pillow angel - but is running and jumping and singing Praises with the Lord!! Please lift this family up in prayer, tomorrow is going to be a hard day for them...but please don't stop praying after tomorrow. It is going to take a long time till the family is able to start to feel "normal" again. Please write down Baby Addie's Family and continue to pray for them for weeks, even months! I know they appreciate and need the prayers!Tiffanyhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/09696025579293488494noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-31477497.post-815378619246129062012-04-30T19:52:00.002-04:002012-04-30T19:52:21.993-04:00More April Pics!

The Kelly Anne Dolan Memorial Fund has an annual event with the Spirit of Philadelphia for families with kids with severe disabilities. This year we were invited to go on the 2-3 hour cruise! It was so much fun! The Spirit of Philadelphia DONATES the ship, the staff all work for free that day, and the clowns are all volunteers! I think they said it totals around $50,000! And they do it for free to be a blessing to families like ours!

It was "nice" to see them because it helped me know that we are not alone in this. There are SO many kids like Dillon that I have never seen anywhere before. Now, how can we reach out to these other families and encouage them and help them find strength in God????

I'm sure my GramPa is worshiping God and talking with all the angels and saints in heaven right now. How great that on this 1st anniversary of his home-going we went to a church service today to remember our Christ who died and rose again to make our "home-going" possible! We love you and miss you GramPa! I miss you teasing me and being silly, miss you talking about dogs all the time, miss tickling your feet just to see you jump, miss you trying to tickle my chin. I miss hearing you call me "Badness #2" and "gopher" (go for this and go for that), I'm not quite sure I miss you throwing scraps of wallpaper with the paste at me though! I wish my children had more of a chance to get to know you. BUT I wouldn't wish you back. I know you are with our Lord!

Tiffanyhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/09696025579293488494noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-31477497.post-9956237416893866222012-03-27T10:58:00.002-04:002012-03-27T11:37:20.973-04:00Talking DonkeyWhat will it take for God to get my attention? Does God have to do something drastic like opening the mouth of a donkey so it can speak and tell me I am disobeying God? I love the story of Balaam! I would like to share with you some of the thoughts I had as reading this wonderful account in the Bible over the last few days.

First, it amazes me how God spoke - out loud - to Balaam and told him not to curse God's people but he still decided to go and do it. I think, how could he be so dumb to ignore God! I would never ignore God if He spoke directly to me! But wait - God has spoken to us in writing where we can read it over and over again to be sure we don't forget it and we still disobey!

The next part of the account that amazes me is how God opens the mouth of the donkey and she speaks to Balaam and he doesn't fall over having a heart attack! I think I would have run away screaming! I mean imagine being in your house and all of a sudden your cat or your dog TALKS to you and tells you there is an angel waiting to kill you if you..... fill in the blank of whatever sin. But Balaam just acts like it is an everyday event to have the donkey TALK to him! As I read this I thought about it from Balaam's view point. He didn't know there was an angel standing there with a sword ready to kill him so he was getting angry that the donkey wasn't obeying, that things weren't going the way he wanted. I'm sure he was upset about the delay in getting to his destination.

How many times do things not go the way we planned? How often are plans changed, decisions are made out of our control, maybe someone or something blocks us from doing what we wanted? How often are those detours God intervening in our lives? Maybe it is for our safety and protection, like Balaam's, or maybe it is to cross our path with someone God needs us to witness to or encourage? I am thinking about a few weeks ago. I had my plan of events mapped out where I was going to go on my way to Dillon's doctor. Then my husband called and said he needed me to take him to get his motorcycle from the shop. I was annoyed because it meant I had to change all my plans for where I was going, when I was leaving, etc. But it had to be done so we did. Then other events happened and my plans were altered again. Finally, I decided we would run to McDonald's, then go to a different store, then get on the highway at a different place than planned. We planned to go into McDonald's and I saw I forgot my credit card so I was all upset that I didn't have that and wondering where I left it at home. Thankfully I had cash to use. I went into McDonald's more than a little stressed and just wanting to get to CHOP quickly. While in McDonald's I saw the lady behind me in line point to the sign "TTM" (Talk to Me). The people at McD said "Oh, she's mute get her a pen and paper." I turned to her and in my very broken sign language asked if she was deaf. She said yes and I told her I am learning sign and might be able to help her. I was able to understand what she was saying (she must have been hard of hearing not totally deaf). I told her where I go to church and that I am learning sign there. I was so nervous I think I forgot all my signs and mixed everything up! But I was able to go back to the van and get her Dillon's story for her and her friend.

I have been praying to meet someone deaf and invite them to church for over a year! And I finally got to do so! BUT what if I would have dug my feet in and refused to change plans that day? What if I would have had such a bad attitude about my plans changing, would I have missed my opportunity? Do you think God was in charge of my day and allowed me to meet that lady to grow my faith (knowing He answered my prayer), to encourage me (know I can try to talk to the deaf now, even if it isn't perfect), and to be an encouragement to her and invite her to church where she knows we have a love for the deaf people? I do! I think God was in control of every little roadblock that day!

I have more from the life of Balaam I want to share, but I will share more later. I hope this is an encouragement to you to remember next time something goes wrong that maybe God is working in our life in a way we can't see just yet. Have faith! Look to God for what he wants to show us and wants us to do when something goes wrong instead of getting angry and acting in selfishness.Tiffanyhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/09696025579293488494noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-31477497.post-92108498365830424762012-03-21T13:27:00.002-04:002012-03-21T13:36:33.338-04:00Haddie's 6 monthHaddie had her 6 month appointment this week... she is 24.38 inches which is the 7% and she is 12lb 10.65oz which is the FIRST percentile. That means 99% of babies at 6 months are bigger than her! That's my girl!

BUT when the doctor saw her scooting on her tummy across the exam bed to get something he said she is way beyond where she is supposed to be developmentally. Someone on my facebook said she is tiny but mighty! I like that!

Monday night we also took her to get her ears pierced. She looks adorable. I will post pictures soon. I think they literally used a sharpie and so the purple mark is still there! I am waiting till the purple goes away to get pictures. We got her blue sapphire, her birthstone, butterflies. It is adorable. it was so sad to see her cry during it.

Hint for other Moms: I had Josiah hold her but I should have held her so he had to see that sad face instead of me!! LOL

Josiah said it is good we only have one girl b/c he couldn't do that again! But this is coming from the man who was never with me for any of Jay's immunizations and didn't have to listen to him cry over that either! I am glad it is done so she will not remember the pain and she looks so pretty. Such a little lady. I'm excited to see my little lady as she grows and matures into a young lady (not that I'm rushing or anything, just thinking of how awesome it will be to have a daughter to raise for the Lord!)Tiffanyhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/09696025579293488494noreply@blogger.com1tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-31477497.post-86198806371346441312012-03-18T21:44:00.003-04:002012-03-18T21:50:59.455-04:00ER visitWell we had a trip to the ER today - but it wasn't for Dillon! That's a first!

This time it was for Jay. After church he was running around with his friends and fell into the corner of a pew. I didn't see it happen but I heard him crying and running at me. I saw a little blood below his hands and didn't think it was too bad but by the time I moved a few feet with him in my arms blood was dripping everywhere. I quick grabbed one of Dillon's washcloths and put pressure on it. A moment or two later Josiah and I looked at it and knew he had to go to the ER for stitches. It was about an inch long and open pretty wide. He calmed down pretty quick when I explained to him that crying would make his blood pump more and make it bleed more. We put a gauze on it and started to go to the ER.

And for those of you who know me... yes I almost passed out. I had to sit with my head almost on the ground while Josiah took Jay to the van and brought me back my juice. I had to sit 4 times on the way to the van to keep from passing out too. Why does my body react to trauma like that??? Is there anyway to get over it and not pass out??

Anyways, Jay was great, he was calm and talking to us the whole way there. Thankfully they were able to glue it shut rather than stitch it. The nurse warned him that it would sting but he said it didn't. He was so brave! I am so proud of how well he handled it! He didn't carry on crying and screaming, he stopped within a few minutes of it and was perfectly calm the whole time!

In a week we can start putting vitamin E oil on it to help reduce the scar and were told to put sun screen on it good for the next two years!Tiffanyhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/09696025579293488494noreply@blogger.com1tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-31477497.post-26273715020335679672012-03-03T21:54:00.002-05:002012-03-03T22:05:25.774-05:00Day of PamperingLast Saturday I went with two friends from church to "A Day of Pampering" which is an event that was started by Joni and Friends and hosted by different churches. It is a day for Moms or Wives who are caregivers to a family member with disabilities.

It was AWESOME!

We started with some fruit to eat while we registered then went in for some songs. They had an "interview" time with 3 ladies who were at different stages of dealing with the disabilities. It was interesting to hear the different views. I can see how I used to be more like the one lady, but now 5 years into I have progressed some and was like the second lady, I think. Then we had the "Blessing of the Hands" this was a time where they read a poem - a great poem that I will have to type up later when I have time.

Then we went in for a lunch and then the fun began. There were haircuts, manis, pedis, massages, etc. All for free, you just go and wait in line or sign up and you can get anything you want done. It was such a great time of relaxation!

For those around here that may be interested in it there are two churches that do it:
Mannor Church (where I went)
and
Calvary Church

If you are interested make sure you find out when to register and register THAT day. Mannor church said within 24 hours of opening registration they were full and had a waiting list. They started about 7 years ago with only 20 ladies and now are able to take 152.Tiffanyhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/09696025579293488494noreply@blogger.com0
